2008 Colorado - 4 National Parks

2008 was a driving vacation to southwestern Colorado. Tim's dad was camping there for serveral weeks which provided us the opportunity to drive to Colorado. Our goal was originally to visit three national parks. While we were there, we found a fourth park that we didn't know even existed - Great Sand Dunes National Park. On the drive out west, we decided (as we were traveling) to also stop and see the St. Louis Gateway Arch in theJefferson National Expansion Memorial. It was a lot of fun although it did suck up a lot of time as we had to wait in line for hours!!!! The Arch was pretty cool and we made the elevator up to the top to spend all of 5 minutes!!!

The four parks that we visited included:

  • Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

  • Mesa Verde National Park

  • Great Sand Dunes National Park

  • Rocky Mountain National Park

Rox and Tim had been to Mesa Verde and Rocky Mountain at some point in the past already but we love both parks for different reasons.
