2008 Family Visit to Los Angeles

The last week of October, 2008 meant Tim traveled to Los Angeles to attend the Microsoft Professional Developer Conference. At the end of the week, the entire family also flew out to Los Angeles to vacation for about 4 days.

The boys got to spend their first afternoon at the beach in our favorite beach community of Manhattan Beach. The weather was cool (only 72) but that was still warm enough to allow them to run on the beach and play in the water.

Friday was Halloween and we got some additonal excitement by making it to Hollywood for the walk of fame. We then traveled through Beverly Hills to shop on Rodeo Drive, went to Griffith Observatory to see a cool show in the observatory and see the Hollywood sign up close. The highlight, for the boys, was that we then went to Magic Mountain and road EVERY rollercoaster. It was their special spook night and the whole family had a great time.

On Saturday, we made it to Venice Beach to show the boys Muscle Beach and then went to a reunion of Tim's old co-workers from First Interstate Bank. That was great fun and Tim enjoyed renewing acquaintences from nearly 20 years ago! (yes...he admits he is getting old). After that, we traveled to the old neighborhood of Fullerton. We spent several hours with good friends and neighbors. Erik got to see where he lived for the first year of his life. In the evening, we traveled to Anaheim to eat dinner at the ESPNZone in Downtown Disney and took a drive past the hospital that Erik was born in.

Sunday was spent with our old church friends (friends from long ago..their not old). We then went to Medieval Times to cheer for the Blue Knight!!!!

This trip was particularly exciting because it was Erik's first time, since he was old enough to realize what was happening, to visit the place where he was born
