2014 Kyle – University of Michigan Visit

During the first weekend of August, Rox, Kyle and Tim took a weekend trip to Ann Arbor to allow Kyle to do a college visit at the University of Michigan. The drive to Ann Arbor was a tough one as we traveled through Chicago at prime rush hour traffic time. We got to Ann Arbor late especially with the hour time change and had to get up early to make an early morning welcome session.

None of us knew much about Michigan other than stuff about their football and basketball histories. We found UofMI to be a very nice university with an incredibly good engineering program. The engineering area of campus is fantastic!

Before leaving campus, we were instructed by our son, Erik to visit an Ann Arbor icon: Zingerman's delicatessen. We finally had a chance to grab lunch after 2pm but still needed to wait in line (see the line in the photo below). Our sandwiches were good but we loved the selection of soda's the best!

As we were preparing to leave town, we happen to drive by the Gerald Ford Presidential Library which I neglected to realize was in the Ann Arbor area!
