2015 Marquette vs Creighton – our Omaha Road Trip (Game #5)

Over Valentine's Day weekend 2015, Erik and Tim took their next road trip in the quest to see an away Marquette basketball game at every school in the Big East. Tim picked up Erik on Friday morning after Erik completed his last class of the day and hit the highway. Our goal was to meet Doug, Aubrey, and Olivia Simon for dinner in Omaha at 5:45….a pretty lofty goal. We tried to keep close to the posted speed limits but thankfully the Simon's were able to drag things out and our timing was perfect; Erik and I showed up at "The Pitch" just as our pizza showed up at the table!

After a delicious meal, Aubrey wanted us to experience the local Creighton University night life and we stopped at the 'Jay'.

Erik and I had purchased tickets to the game before we hit the road but are extremely grateful that Doug Simon arranged via his friend Jim "Sulley" Sullivan to get us new tickets. Erik and I sat mid-court (actually each of us on opposite sides fo the mid-court line) and had third-row seats. The CenturyLink Center in Omaha is laid out in such a way that I think our seats would have actually been worse had we been in Row 1 or 2! Our seats were fantastic!

After the game, Erik and roamed the campus at Creighton to check it out. Thanks to the Simons and our new friend, Jim Sullivan for making this a great weekend for Erik and Tim.
