2020 Spontaneous Hawaiian Island Getaway

Last minute decision to get away from the cold and visit Hawaii. We decided to visit two islands (the Big Island and Kauai) which also gives us the opportunity to knock off one more National Park (Volcano National Park).

We were fortunate to find a beautiful hotel on the big Island just south of Kailua-Kona which had a beautiful shoreline location. We stayed for four nights and toured the island which included a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

While we were touring the island, someone who discovered that we were from Wisconsin recommended that we visit Quinn's Almost By the Sea, the "Southernmost Green Bay Packer Bar". We stopped in, had some good food and a beer and were treated by a visit by the owner who was a very gracious hostess!

The second island we visited was Kauai. Tim's highlight (I cannot speak for Roxanne) was the day we rented a motorcycle to tour the island. We had fantastic weather (83 degrees and a slight ocean breeze) to tour the southern side of the island including Waimea Canyon which is fantastic!

We did the obligatory Luau on our last night which proved to be a fun night. Roxanne actually got Tim up dancing in the middle of the show (but no, not the Hula!)
