2021 Winter of Fun - Congaree National Park

When we were in South Carolina about 2 years ago, we realized that we missed an opportunity to visit Congaree National Park which is a park we really knew little about . On our drive down to Florida in January of 2021 we detoured just a bit to make a stop and spend a few hours hiking in the park. By the descriptions and signs around the park I'd suggest you totally avoid this park in summer and fall when it is mosquito season.

We only spent a couple of hours at the park but it was enough for a short hike through the park on their elevated paths. Even though they were elevated, the path was flooded and we had to peel down to bare feet to walk through it which was fun.

The park is a little eerie. Maybe we were chickens but as soon as it got dark, we decided to leave.
